There is no crystal ball to evaluate whether a homeopathic medicine has worked. The only way the homeopath knows that a medicine is working is to listen to you. After the initial consultation, the homeopath will generate a list of symptoms which define the case, most importantly, the symptoms which are most important to you. During the follow-up, the status of each of the client's particular symptoms will be updated, and based on that, the homeopath will determine how well the remedy is acting, and if the remedy is not acting, to determine what changes in treatment are most appropriate. The best frequency for these appointments is every five to six weeks. Typical homeopathic treatment durations range from six months to a few years, depending on the depth and complexity of the client's illness, and the strength of the client's vital force.
